Part 7: is there anywhere to party late night?

As the sun sets over Worthy Farm, the night owls among the Glaston crowd begin to seek out the party options. At Glastonbury these are legendary, creating an atmosphere that buzzes with energy and music well into the early hours.

The south-east corner of the festival, dubbed "Naughty Corner" by seasoned festival-goers, houses a collection of late-night venues. Shangri-La, the festival's after-dark heartland, is a mind-bending maze of music, art, and performance where the party rarely slows. Every year it reinvents itself with a new theme, making each visit a unique experience. To find out more about the history of the naughty corner, and why it got its name, watch Lost in Vagueness on Netflix.

The Unfairground is another hotspot for after-midnight merriment. Here, you'll find a surreal blend of art installations, sideshows, and pumping dance music that keeps the party going until dawn. You can party in a London Underground train carriage if you want.

For those who prefer techno and electronic beats, Block9 is the place to be. This dystopian cityscape offers a line-up of top DJs and immersive environments that transport you to another world. IICON, pictured below, is a favourite of ours.

Lastly, there’s the infamous Green Fields' stone circle. Here, impromptu drum circles, fire dancers, and communal sing-alongs provide a more chilled-out vibe.

Remember, Glastonbury is a marathon, not a sprint. Pace yourself, stay hydrated, and embrace the nocturnal magic of Glastonbury.

I go on about this all the time. These places are loud. Protect your ears. Some people like Loops, I prefer Alpine Party Pro because they reduce the sound and make it easier for me to hear my mates chatting.

Quick note, sometimes, if you buy through a affiliate link we get a small commission. This is what keeps the podcast going, but we won’t recommend a product unless we like it ourselves. On that note, I have two pairs of Alpine ear plugs, that I paid for myself!
